Bali Full Day Tour - Tanah Lot Tour
Tour Highlight
We start the tour from your hotel and drive to our first stop to see the traditional Barong Dance performance. This classical ballet created to remind Balinese people of the truth that spiritual purity will eventually overcome the evil within our mind. During the show you will see the possessed dancers stab themselves using traditional dagger -the kris but remain unharmed! Next stop will be Taman Ayun Temple. This temple complex boasts magnificent traditional architectural features throughout its courtyards and enclosures as well as expansive garden landscapes comprised of lotus and fish ponds. The temple was built circa 1634 by the then ruler of the Mengwi kingdom, Tjokorda Sakti Blambangan, with Chinese architectural inspirations. Towering tiers from the temple shrines make up most of the profile of Taman Ayun and are a gesture of the people of Mengwi’s reverence to their deified noble ancestors, for the temple complex is considered the ‘mother temple’ of Mengwi. It also served as a unifying symbol among the Mengwi royalty and the people. Further we will continue to Bedugul region where the Lake Beratan and the iconic Ulun Danu Temple is located. Lake Beratan is very important as one of the main sources of irrigation in Bali while Ulun Danu Temple is a major Shivaite water temple in Bali. It was built in the shores of the lake in 1633 and used for offering ceremony to Balinese lake goddess Dewi Danu. Lake Beratan is also known as the Lake of Holy Mountain due to the fertility of this area. Located 1,200 meters above sea level, it has a cold tropical climate. Last and main destination of this tour is Tanah Lot Temple which has become one of Bali’s most important landmarks, famed for its unique offshore setting and sunset backdrops. An ancient Hindu shrine perched on top of an outcrop amidst constantly crashing waves; Tanah Lot Temple is simply among Bali’s not-to-be-missed icons. The onshore site is dotted with smaller shrines alongside visitors’ leisure facilities that comprise restaurants, shops and a cultural park presenting regular dance performances. Also in the tour (optional): - Palm Civet Luwak Coffee - POD Bali Chocolate Factory |
